Snowden, 'The Ranch' Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2021

Diana Snowden Seysses is one of America’s greatest winemakers. Along with running things at both Snowden and Ashes and Diamonds in Napa, she’s the cellar master at Domaine Dujac in Burgundy. At her family winery in Napa’s eastern foothills, she makes site-specific cabernet that’s up there with our favorites from old-school greats like Corison or Chappellet. Pure, balanced, savory - ‘The Ranch’ is simply one of the best values in Napa today.

Here's what you should know about it:
  • Diana Snowden Seysses took over her family winery in 2005. She splits her time between Snowden and Ashes and Diamonds in Napa, as well as Domaine Dujac in Burgundy.
  • Yields were down by 50% in 2021, though the wine that Diana did produce is particularly vivid and concentrated.
  • This is classically balanced Napa cabernet - dark-fruited, earthy, elegant - that you don’t need to wait on. It’s delicious today.
