Lalú, Langhe Nebbiolo 2024

Barolo isn’t a wine region known for newcomers showing up and making waves. And yet, maybe, that’s beginning to change. Along with the likes of Philine Isabelle and Cantina d’Arcy, Lalú is a new producer crafting nebbiolo that’s geared towards freshness and early-drinking appeal. This red wine, which is made with grapes from their small plots in Barolo, is the kind of bright, floral nebbiolo that we crave year-round.

Here's what you should know about it:
  • Lara Rocchetti (La) and Luisa Sala (Lu) produced their first vintage at Lalú in 2019.
  • They previously worked together in Burgundy under Dominique Lafon and Cecile Tremblay, as well as in their native Barolo at Conterno-Fantino and Trediberri.
  • This fresh, perfumed red wine comes from Barolo. Specifically, it’s made from organic nebbiolo in Lalú’s small plots in the villages of La Morra and Monforte.
As sommeliers, we often get asked, “What’s the best wine on the list?”
Rarely would we ever tell the truth. We wanted to hoard them for ourselves, or stash them away to drink with our sommelier friends in-the-know. Well, Parcelle Picks is our big reveal.
